Since its creation in 2003 LAZONA has produced 14 feature films and more than 50 plays, combining both box office and critical hits and awards.
LAZONA Cine stands out for No Habrá Paz para los malvados (2011), directed by Enrique Urbizu, winner of six Goya awards including Best Film, and Ocho Apellidos Vascos (2014) directed by Emilio Martínez Lázaro, which together with its sequel, Ocho Apellidos Catalanes (2015), make up the highest grossing Spanish franchise in history, with more than 15 million viewers.
In 2017 LAZONA premiered three films: Plan de Fuga, an action thriller directed by lñaki Dorrosorro, Toc Toc, an adaptation of the play of the same name and directed by Vicente Villanueva and El Autor, a comic drama directed by Manuel Martín Cuenca, winner of the Prize Fipresci at the Toronto Film Festival 2017.
That same year LAZONA expanded its activity to the production of fiction for TV with Serials such as Gigantes (2017/18) and Libertad (2020), both directed by Enrique Urbizu.
In 2019, the feature film Remember Me premiered, directed by Martín Rosete and starring an international cast led by Bruce Dern and Brian Cox.
LAZONA Teatro stands out for its critical successes such as La Piedra Oscura by Alberto Conejero (winner of five MAX awards including best theatrical show) and La Respiración by Alfredo Sanzol. In 2019 it kept on the stage for ten consecutive years Toc Toc by Laurent Baffie, while it premiered Alfredo Sanzol’s plays La Ternura and La valentía. In 2020 it premiered La Golondrina, a successful text by Gillem Clua starring Carmen Maura.
