THE MISANTHROPE

The Misanthrope lives in seclusion in the countryside with his daughter, but The Girl, as the author calls her, wants to discover the world. Through her, we learn about the situation of women in classical Greece and accompany her on her quest for freedom and a name. She is also joined on her journey by the god Pan, who introduces her to Sostratus, the son of the owner of the country inn, who falls in love with the Misanthrope’s daughter… And that is where the comedy begins.
