Silver Haze

Sacha Polak, acclaimed Dutch director of Hamel, Zurich and Dirty God, leaves no one indifferent with her latest feature film, Silver Haze. Presented at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival, where her leading lady, Vicky Knigh, won the Teddy Award for Best Actress. It has continued its successful run at international and national festivals. Much of the credit goes to Vicky Knight, an English actress and nurse with whom Polak returns after Dirty God and whose personal story partly inspires the story of this film: a portrait of a young woman who, like her, survived a fire that left scars on her body.

As a child, Franky, a young nurse from suburban London, suffered an accident that left her with lifelong scars. Fifteen years later, her insecurity and her obsession to find answers have blocked her emotionally, until she falls in love with Florence, one of her patients. Florence, a young vitalist, invites her to escape her reality by welcoming her into her home, discovering a refuge in which to overcome the “scars” of the past.
