Ghost Trail
Based on real events.
Hamid, a Syrian professor in exile, is part of a secret group that hunts down the regime’s fugitive leaders. His mission takes him to France on the trail of his former torturer. The revenge he has been obsessed with for years is just one step away.
About the film:
Used to shooting successful documentaries in the most dangerous places, French filmmaker Jonathan Millet has taken a real-life situation, which he has followed closely, as the basis for his first feature-length fiction film. His lens is set on the situation of Syrian refugees who are victims of Bashar al-Assad's regime, their fate inside and outside their country's borders, and especially on an almost clandestine struggle that few know about: that of a cell of spies based in Europe who are in charge of tracking down their own torturers.
Starring the French-Tunisian actor Adam Bessa (Un Certain Regard Award at the Cannes Film Festival), The Ghost Trail was screened in the Meeting Point section of the 69th edition of Seminci and had its world premiere at the 63rd Critics' Week in Cannes, where it was the opening film
