THE LAST DANCE
Winner of the Audience Award at Locarno and at the Malaga Francophone Film Festival, the new film by Delphine Lehericey, director of The Horizon – presented at the 67th San Sebastian Festival and winner of the Swiss Film Awards – has won over audiences wherever it has been shown for the first time.
Germain, a 75-year-old pensioner, is trying to rebuild his life after the sudden loss of his wife. His family does not make it easy for him and tries to overprotect him with unexpected visits, incessant phone calls and piles of tupperware in the fridge… But Germain’s mind is elsewhere, fulfilling a promise he made to his wife, which will introduce him fully into a world that is completely alien to him, the world of dance.
